Third Time's The Charm

Schoolhouse Rock taught us back in the day that "3 - that's the magic number" and after that so did other musicians like De La Soul, Blind Melon, and  Jack Johnson.  My favorite is the Jack Johnson version.

In the case of marriage, we always hope for "one and done" but that is not the case for many.

For both of us, our first two marriages didn't work out.  So, coming into this, we both had a laundry list of learning experiences to go off of.  We both went into this with eyes open.  We had the hard discussions up front, some on our first date.  We have realized that marriage isn't like the movies or fairy tales... it takes HARD WORK.  We learned that there are days you are going to despise your partner, but those days will pass, and more often than not, you will experience a great fulfilling love.

So, today starts the beginning of marriage number three for both of us.  I believe that three is the magic number and I know that this is it for me.  I keep telling Hubs "third time's the charm!" and he laughs at me and rolls his eyes, and that is just who we are.

So, I will see you at the alter later my love.  It's time for the festivities to begin.
