He Knows A Guy

One of Hubs favorite sayings is "I know a guy" and believe me when I tell you that for just about anything you need help with, he does know a guy... or in this case, a girl.

Since I've met Hubs, he's told me about his two best friends from High School, Crystal and Nikki, who were so close they might as well have been sisters.  While I haven't gotten to meet them in person yet, I have gotten to know them a bit thanks to Facebook.

It was over the summer that Hubs and I kept seeing the two of them post about another HS friend of theirs getting married.  And, while we weren't surprised to see that one of the girls was a bridesmaid, we were floored when we saw that the other was going to be officiating the ceremony! 

It is funny how this came about.  You see, Crystal is one of those people who has such an active and inquisitive mind that she just doesn't stop.  She is the type of person that woke up one day and decided that she was going to learn how to speak Mandarin.  Another day, she decided that since one of her best friends was getting married, she wanted to know what steps were required to become an officiant... and then she got herself ordained.

It is one of those wild things.  Not only did she get ordained, but she performed the marriage of her friend.  When Hubs heard about that he was so impressed.  He also mentioned at that time, that IF we ever got married, she could be the one to marry us too.  You see, back during the "tree" time in our relationship, he would tease me by throwing out IF statements about our future, like that one.  I wonder if that was his way of feeling me out to see if I was interested in marrying him? hmmm

Once we got engaged, we made sure to give her a call and when he asked her to perform our ceremony as well, she said yes.

So thank you to Crystal for being our officiant.  We are so thankful to have you be a part of our big day!
