Waterfront Ceremony

One of the things that both Hubs and I have in common is our love of water.  We both really wanted an Oceanfront Wedding but, well, budgets and all...

So, we started looking at alternative venues.  We're relaxed, laid back people.  Nothing too formal.  No pomp and circumstance.  I started thinking that if we couldn't be on the ocean, we both love countryside, and Hubs agreed that would be a great alternative option.  So we looked for barns or country locations and we found the Carolina Wedding Barn.

When I called, I spoke to the owner, Mr. John Williams and explained that we had really wanted waterfront but couldn't afford any of the venues.  I told him about our Thin Blue Line theme and that Hubs was a retired Marine too.  He mentioned that he also owned Abilena Plantation and offered Military and Law Enforcement discounts.  Mr. Williams was able to provide a discounted rate within our budget and now, we are getting married at Abilena Plantation!!

It is a gorgeous Carolina plantation house.  It is located waterfront on the Neuse River.  It has a pool and hot tub, as well as a carriage house for reception.  There is a waterfront ceremony location.  It is perfect!!!

Below are pictures of Abilena Plantation from their website.
