Save the Date

In true fashion, my family is just too excited.  The minute we announced our engagement, I started receiving texts and FB messages asking when we were getting married.  So, we knew we needed to get on the Save the Dates ASAP.

We reached out to Other Wife and Other Husband to have dinner with us and take some photos on the river.  Other Husband got tied up with work stuff and we had time to kill before dinner, so Other Wife met us early to get some really great pictures.

Poor Other Wife had been battling the flu all week and so we were twice as grateful that she came out to not only sit down for dinner (first big meal she ate all week!), but to be our photographer.  She is amazing and the timing and location could not have been more perfect!

The place that we took photos was actually the location of Hubs and my first date!  We had met in a parking lot on the waterfront and then walked down the dock/pier to a cute little riverside coffee shop, where we talked all night.  So, for our photos, being on the docks out by the water was perfect.

As for timing, because it was shortly before dinner, we were there right as the sun was setting.  Let me tell you, there is nothing more beautiful then sun setting on the water.  Other Wife did a most excellent job of capturing some amazing sunset photos.

Lots of really fun and playful pictures, but also some more serious and romantic ones.

It was truly amazing because it allowed me to get really creative with the Save the Dates.  I have always loved when friends sent refrigerator magnets so that I had something front and center to commemorate their event.

I found a website called Wedding Paper Divas, who offer really nice, custom Save the Dates.  I used Photoshop to create the image and then uploaded it.  Below is a proof of the finished product.  I took our favorite "Engagement" photos from Other Wife and incorporated both the Thin Blue Line color scheme and a Tree.
