I Can't Believe It

Miracles do happen.  Since January 1st of this year, I have witnessed the most amazing things in my life.  One of which is the kindness of others.  I've written about how a High School friend of Hubs is going to be our Officiant.  Well, now a High School friend of mine is going to be our Photographer!

I put feelers out on Facebook to see if anyone local to NC knew some photographers in the area.  We have a pretty fixed budget for the wedding and so we were looking for folks who dabble.  Possibly a friend of a friend who was just getting started and wanted some practice.  I knew that a professional photographer was going to be out of the question.

Several friends mentioned professional photographers they knew and I went to all of their websites, but most had initial day-of packages which started at $2500 or higher.  My memory is terrible due to my Celiac and so I have been very emotional over whether or not we would have nice photos to commemorate the day.

Hubs kept trying to be reassuring that it was about the event and not necessarily the photos.  This isn't just an event.  This was something that the two of us (and munchkin) would only do with each other that one time.  It isn't like we could re-do it later.  I wanted the emotions of the day captured for all eternity.

So, I was so pleasantly shocked when a friend from High School who is a BRILLIANT photographer contacted me and said she could shoot our wedding for our budgeted amount.  She happened to be available our wedding weekend and was happy to do it.

I am in tears right now.  Dawn, you are a saint!  You are a dream come true.  I will never have enough words of gratitude to express how grateful I am for you doing this.  Everyone should check her out (http://www.dawnhonskyphotography.com/) and you can be sure that I will share all of the amazing photos she takes here on my blog.

Thank you Dawn!
