Bouquets, Boutonnieres & Bullets

We already have an idea for incorporating bullet shells into the centerpieces.  However, impact shells are even more awesome because they look like flowers!

I was thinking of making my bouquet and including impact shells as flowers, but then munchkin's mom found this awesome website which has boutonnieres made with impact shells as well!  In fact, this website is a huge inspiration for all of the "floral" decor at the wedding.  It is called http://bulletbouquets.com.

Anyway, I'm posting this so I don't forget what I want to do, since we're still a few months out.  We will need to get super crafty in May to get all of our "stuff" made, and if we can also make boutonnieres, then I will be stoked.  I think maybe it is time to purchase a soldering iron.

Lot of work involved:  drilling holes through all of the shells in the center-fire divot, then using the dremel to smooth any rough edges.  Using Rustoleum to paint the shells in Metallic Cobalt Blue Metallic, Black Night Metallic and Silver Metallic.  Then threading the shells onto either strings (for the centerpieces) or wires (for the bouquets and boutonnieres).

Anyway, I guess it's time to call up Sportsman's Lodge again, only this time I'll need to ask for impact shells.  Assuming 3 shells per boutonniere and 5 per bouquet, we're talking almost 30 shells.  I hope they are willing to accommodate me.

Check out these inspiration photos, but picture my bouquet as white flowers with blue painted impact shells.
